Possible Side Effects After COVID-19 Vaccination
COVID-19 vaccines, which are administered to help prevent severe illness caused by the coronavirus, may cause side effects that can temporarily affect daily activities. These reactions are completely normal and indicate that the immune system is responding to the vaccine. Side effects usually last only a few days, and some people experience no side effects at all.
It is important to note that side effects may be more noticeable after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine. In most cases, this is not a cause for concern. It simply means that the body is producing antibodies and building protection against the virus. These symptoms typically resolve within a few days. If symptoms persist for more than two days or become severe, consult a healthcare provider.
For vaccines that require two doses, individuals are generally considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose. For single-dose vaccines, full vaccination is achieved two weeks after the single injection. During this period, it is essential to continue following all recommended preventive measures against COVID-19, just as before vaccination.
In some cases, a person may become infected with COVID-19 shortly before or immediately after receiving the vaccine and develop symptoms of the disease. This does not mean that the vaccine is ineffective. Rather, the body has not yet had enough time to develop protective antibodies.
